Anna Walachowski was born on May 12, 1985, in Warsaw, Poland. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Anna showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Anna's parents recognized her potential and enrolled her in the Frederic Chopin Music School in Warsaw. She quickly excelled in her studies and began participating in local competitions. At the age of 12, Anna won first prize in the National Piano Competition for Young Musicians in Poland. Anna continued her studies at the Frederic Chopin Music School and later at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. She studied under renowned pianists such as Janusz Olejniczak and Piotr Paleczny. During her time at the university, Anna won several awards and competitions, including the 2006 International Piano Competition in Rome. After completing her studies, Anna began performing professionally and quickly gained recognition for her exceptional talent. In 2008, she won first prize at the International Piano Competition in Santander, Spain, which led to her performing at the prestigious Santander Festival. Anna's career continued to flourish, and she began performing with orchestras around the world. In 2010, she made her debut with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5. The performance was met with critical acclaim, and Anna was praised for her technical skill and emotional depth. Over the years, Anna has performed with numerous orchestras, including the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed at some of the world's most prestigious venues, such as Carnegie Hall in New York and the Royal Albert Hall in London. In addition to her performances, Anna is also a dedicated teacher. She has taught masterclasses at universities and music schools around the world, including the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Juilliard School in New York. Anna's talent and dedication to her craft have earned her numerous awards and accolades throughout her career. In 2012, she was awarded the Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of culture and the arts in Poland. In 2015, Anna was named a Steinway Artist, joining a prestigious group of pianists who are recognized for their exceptional talent and dedication to the piano. She was also awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon a citizen of Poland. Anna continues to perform and teach around the world, inspiring audiences and students with her passion for music.
