Bareil started playing the violin at the age of four and showed exceptional talent from the beginning. Bareil's musical journey began when he joined the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal at the age of nine. He studied under the guidance of renowned violinists such as Jean-François Rivest and Vladimir Landsman. Bareil's talent and dedication to music were evident from the start, and he quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the most promising young violinists in Canada. In 1992, Bareil won the prestigious Prix d'Europe, which is awarded to the most promising young musicians in Canada. During this time, Bareil performed in several concerts and competitions, which helped him gain recognition as a rising star in the world of classical music. He also won the first prize at the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition in 1997, which allowed him to perform with the orchestra as a soloist.
