The Dobbri Saxophone Orchestra is a classical music ensemble that has gained worldwide recognition for its unique sound and exceptional performances. The orchestra was founded in 2005 by a group of saxophonists who shared a passion for classical music and a desire to create a new sound using the saxophone. The founding members of the Dobbri Saxophone Orchestra were all graduates of the prestigious Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. They were inspired by the works of composers such as Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, and wanted to bring their music to a wider audience using the saxophone. The main members of the Dobbri Saxophone Orchestra are Jean-Pierre Dobbri, the founder and artistic director of the orchestra, and his wife, Marie Dobbri, who is also a saxophonist and serves as the orchestra's manager. Other members of the orchestra include Julien Dupont, Pierre Lefebvre, and Sophie Martin, all of whom are accomplished saxophonists in their own right. The Dobbri Saxophone Orchestra has performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Salle Pleyel in Paris. The orchestra has also performed at numerous music festivals, including the Edinburgh International Festival, the Salzburg Festival, and the Lucerne Festival. One of the highlights of the Dobbri Saxophone Orchestra's career was their performance at the 2012 BBC Proms. The orchestra performed a program of classical works, including Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 and Mozart's Symphony No. 40, to critical acclaim. The performance was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and was later released on CD. The Dobbri Saxophone Orchestra has also won numerous awards for their performances and recordings. In 2010, the orchestra won the Echo Klassik Award for their recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations. The following year, they won the Diapason d'Or Award for their recording of Mozart's Requiem. In addition to their performances and recordings, the Dobbri Saxophone Orchestra is also committed to music education. They regularly hold masterclasses and workshops for young saxophonists, and have established a scholarship program to support promising young musicians.
