Vasso Devetzi was born on January 1, 1960, in Athens, Greece. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her father being a pianist and her mother a singer. From a young age, Devetzi showed a natural talent for music and began studying the piano at the age of six. Devetzi's musical education continued at the National Conservatory of Athens, where she studied piano and music theory. She later went on to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, Germany, where she received a diploma in piano performance.
