Concerto Avenna is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2008 by a group of young musicians who shared a passion for chamber music. The ensemble is based in Vienna, Austria, and is known for its innovative and dynamic performances of classical and contemporary music. The founding members of Concerto Avenna were violinist Anna Maria Pammer, cellist Johannes Flieder, and pianist Christoph Traxler. All three musicians had studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and had already established themselves as talented performers in the Austrian classical music scene. From the beginning, Concerto Avenna set out to create a unique sound that blended the traditional elements of classical music with modern influences. The ensemble's repertoire includes works by classical composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, and Brahms, as well as contemporary pieces by living composers. One of the highlights of Concerto Avenna's early career was their performance at the 2009 Salzburg Festival, one of the most prestigious classical music festivals in the world. The ensemble received critical acclaim for their interpretation of Beethoven's "Archduke" Trio, which was described as "powerful and emotionally charged." In 2011, Concerto Avenna released their debut album, "Vienna Dreams," which featured works by Viennese composers such as Schubert, Strauss, and Kreisler. The album received positive reviews and helped to establish the ensemble as one of the rising stars of the classical music world. Over the years, Concerto Avenna has performed at some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals in Europe, including the Musikverein in Vienna, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Lucerne Festival. The ensemble has also collaborated with a number of renowned soloists, including pianist Lang Lang and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. In 2015, Concerto Avenna was awarded the prestigious ECHO Klassik award for their album "Brahms: The Piano Trios." The award, which is considered one of the highest honors in the classical music industry, recognizes outstanding achievements in the recording industry. In addition to their performances and recordings, Concerto Avenna is also committed to music education and outreach. The ensemble regularly conducts masterclasses and workshops for young musicians, and has worked with organizations such as the Vienna Philharmonic and the European Union Youth Orchestra. Today, Concerto Avenna continues to be one of the most exciting and innovative ensembles in the classical music world.
