He was the son of a music teacher and grew up in a family that was passionate about music. From a young age, Vieuille showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. He was a prodigious talent and quickly developed a reputation as a gifted musician. Vieuille's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began studying at the Paris Conservatory at the age of 12 and quickly distinguished himself as one of the most promising young musicians of his generation. He studied under some of the most renowned music teachers of the time, including Nadia Boulanger and Marcel Dupré. Vieuille's talent was not limited to the piano. He was also an accomplished organist and harpsichordist. He was a versatile musician who was equally at home playing solo pieces or performing with an orchestra. His performances were characterized by their technical precision, emotional depth, and musicality. Vieuille's career as a professional musician began in the 1950s.
