Peter Petrov is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant impact in the world of music. Born on May 15, 1985, in Sofia, Bulgaria, Petrov showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. His parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion for music. Petrov's musical journey began at the National School of Music "Lyubomir Pipkov" in Sofia, where he studied piano under the guidance of Professor Milena Mollova. He later continued his studies at the National Academy of Music "Pancho Vladigerov" in Sofia, where he received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Piano Performance. During his studies, Petrov participated in numerous competitions and won several awards, including the First Prize at the National Piano Competition "Svetoslav Obretenov" in 2003 and the Second Prize at the International Piano Competition "Citta di Barletta" in Italy in 2005. After completing his studies, Petrov continued to hone his skills and expand his repertoire. He participated in masterclasses with renowned pianists such as Lazar Berman, Boris Berman, and Jerome Rose. He also attended the International Summer Academy "Mozarteum" in Salzburg, Austria, where he studied with Professor Pavel Gililov. Petrov's talent and hard work paid off when he won the First Prize at the International Piano Competition "Citta di Sulmona" in Italy in 2008. This was a significant achievement for Petrov, as the competition was highly competitive and attracted pianists from all over the world. The win brought Petrov international recognition and opened doors for him to perform in prestigious venues around the world. Since then, Petrov has performed in numerous concerts and recitals in Europe, Asia, and the United States. He has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra, the Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. He has also performed in prestigious venues such as the Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Salle Cortot in Paris, and the Konzerthaus in Vienna. One of Petrov's most memorable performances was his debut at the Carnegie Hall in 2012. He performed a program that included works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt, and received a standing ovation from the audience. The New York Concert Review praised Petrov's performance, stating that "his playing was marked by a deep musicality, technical brilliance, and a profound understanding of the music." Petrov's repertoire is diverse and includes works by classical composers such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin, as well as contemporary composers such as Ligeti, Schnittke, and Pärt. He is known for his interpretation of Chopin's music and has been praised for his ability to capture the essence of Chopin's style and emotion. In addition to his performances, Petrov is also a dedicated teacher and has taught piano at the National Academy of Music "Pancho Vladigerov" in Sofia. He has also given masterclasses in Bulgaria, Italy, and the United States, and has served as a jury member for several international piano competitions. Petrov's talent and hard work have been recognized with numerous awards and honors. In 2014, he was awarded the "Crystal Lyre" award by the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers for his contribution to Bulgarian music.
