Bengt Berg was a renowned classical music artist who was born on May 12, 1920, in Stockholm, Sweden. He was the son of a music teacher and grew up in a family that was passionate about music. Bengt showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. He later learned to play the violin and the viola, which became his primary instrument. Bengt's talent was recognized early on, and he was accepted into the Royal College of Music in Stockholm at the age of 16. He studied under some of the most prominent music teachers in Sweden, including Tor Mann, who was a renowned violist. Bengt's talent and dedication to music were evident, and he quickly became one of the most promising young musicians in the country. After completing his studies at the Royal College of Music, Bengt began his professional career as a violist. Bengt retired from performing in 1988 but continued to teach and mentor young musicians. He was a professor of viola at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston from 1989 until his death in 2014.
