Allan Sternfield was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a professional pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Allan showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Allan's parents recognized his talent and enrolled him in the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division when he was just six years old. There, he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Yoheved Kaplinsky. Allan's talent and dedication to his craft were evident from the start, and he quickly became one of the top students in his class. As Allan continued to grow and develop as a musician, he began to gain recognition for his exceptional talent. In 2001, at the age of 16, he won first prize in the International Piano Competition in Paris, France. This was a significant achievement for Allan, as the competition was highly competitive and attracted some of the world's most talented young pianists. Following his success in Paris, Allan continued to perform and compete in various competitions around the world. In 2003, he won first prize in the International Piano Competition in Moscow, Russia, and in 2005, he won first prize in the International Piano Competition in Tokyo, Japan. These victories cemented Allan's reputation as one of the most talented young pianists of his generation. In addition to his success in competitions, Allan also began to gain recognition for his performances in major concert halls around the world. He made his debut at Carnegie Hall in 2004, performing a solo recital to critical acclaim. He also performed with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra, among others. Allan's performances were praised for their technical brilliance, musicality, and emotional depth. He was known for his ability to bring out the nuances and subtleties of the music he played, and his performances were often described as transcendent and transformative. In recognition of his exceptional talent and achievements, Allan was awarded numerous honors and awards throughout his career.
