Putilin's love for music was evident from a young age, and he began his musical training at the Moscow Conservatory, where he studied under the tutelage of the famous Russian baritone, Georgy Nelepp. Putilin's career as a professional musician began in 1974 when he joined the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. He quickly established himself as one of the most talented baritones of his generation, and his performances were highly acclaimed by both audiences and critics alike.
