Jon Carroll is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. He was born on August 18, 1953, in Washington, D.C. and grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a jazz pianist, and his mother was a classical pianist. Jon was exposed to music from a very young age and started playing the piano when he was just four years old. Jon's talent for music was evident from an early age, and he quickly became a prodigy. He studied at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, Maryland, where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance. He then went on to study at the Juilliard School in New York City, where he received a Master of Music degree in piano performance. After completing his studies, Jon began his career as a concert pianist. He quickly gained a reputation for his virtuosic performances and his ability to interpret complex pieces of music. Together, they formed the Perlman/Carroll/Ma Trio, which performed to critical acclaim around the world. Throughout his career, Jon received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to the world of classical music. In 1983, he was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional promise. He was also awarded the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 1985, which is one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. In addition to his performances as a pianist, Jon was also an accomplished composer. He wrote several pieces of music, including a piano concerto and a string quartet. His compositions were performed by many of the world's leading orchestras and chamber ensembles. Jon's career as a musician spanned over four decades, and he continued to perform and compose music until his retirement in 2015.
