He was a prodigious talent and quickly developed a reputation as a gifted musician. Freschi's early musical education was under the tutelage of his father, who was a respected music teacher in Florence. He received his formal training at the Conservatorio di Musica Luigi Cherubini in Florence, where he studied piano, composition, and conducting. He graduated with honors in 1958 and went on to pursue a career in music. Freschi's career as a classical music artist began in the early 1960s when he started performing in concerts and recitals across Italy. He quickly gained a reputation as a talented pianist and was invited to perform at some of the most prestigious venues in the country. In 1963, he won the prestigious Busoni Prize, which is awarded to the best pianist under the age of 35. Freschi's international career took off in the late 1960s when he began performing in concerts and recitals across Europe and the United States. He also continued to record extensively, producing over 50 albums during his career. Freschi's final performance was in 1995, at the age of 57.
