Role:ConductorAngus Ramsay was born on May 12, 1985, in Edinburgh, Scotland. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Angus showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Angus received his early musical education at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he studied under the tutelage of some of the most renowned pianists in the country. He quickly established himself as a prodigious talent, winning numerous awards and accolades for his performances. In 2003, Angus was awarded the prestigious Young Musician of the Year award, which brought him to the attention of the wider classical music community. This led to a series of high-profile performances, including a solo recital at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Over the next few years, Angus continued to build his reputation as one of the most talented young pianists of his generation. He performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York and the Berlin Philharmonic. In 2008, Angus was awarded the International Piano Competition in Moscow, which cemented his status as one of the world's leading pianists. This was followed by a series of critically acclaimed recordings, including a highly praised interpretation of Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 14, which was hailed as a masterpiece of the genre. Despite his success, Angus remained humble and dedicated to his craft. He continued to study and refine his technique, working with some of the most respected pianists in the world. In 2015, Angus was invited to perform at the Edinburgh International Festival, where he gave a stunning performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2. The performance was hailed as one of the highlights of the festival, and Angus received a standing ovation from the audience. In addition to his performing career, Angus was also a respected teacher and mentor. He taught at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland for many years, and his students went on to achieve great success in their own right. Sadly, Angus passed away in 2018 at the age of 33.
