Sébastien Walnier is a Belgian cellist who has established himself as one of the most talented and sought-after classical musicians of his generation. Born in Brussels in 1987, Walnier began playing the cello at the age of six, and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where he was mentored by renowned cellist Marie Hallynck. Walgner's talent was evident from an early age, and he quickly began to make a name for himself in the classical music world. In 2005, he won first prize at the prestigious Dexia Classics competition, which helped to launch his career. He went on to win numerous other awards and accolades, including the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship in 2007, and the Prix de la Fondation Belge de la Vocation in 2008. Walgner's career has been marked by a series of impressive performances and collaborations with some of the world's most renowned classical musicians. In 2009, he performed with the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, and in 2010 he was invited to perform at the prestigious Verbier Festival in Switzerland. He has also collaborated with the likes of pianist Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden and violinist Augustin Dumay. One of Walgner's most notable performances came in 2012, when he was invited to perform at the Royal Palace in Brussels in honor of the 50th anniversary of the reign of King Albert II. The performance was attended by numerous dignitaries and members of the royal family, and was widely praised for its beauty and elegance. In addition to his impressive performance career, Walgner is also a dedicated teacher and mentor to young musicians. He has taught at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, and has also given masterclasses and workshops around the world.
