Denise Scharley was born on May 5, 1978, in Vienna, Austria. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her father being a renowned cellist and her mother a pianist. From a young age, Denise showed a natural talent for music and began playing the cello at the age of four. Denise's parents recognized her potential and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. She began taking private lessons with her father and quickly progressed, winning her first competition at the age of six.
