Jean-Francois Vaucher was born on May 12, 1985, in Geneva, Switzerland. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Vaucher showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Vaucher's parents recognized his potential and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with renowned pianist and teacher, Maria João Pires, at the age of six. Under her guidance, Vaucher developed a deep understanding and appreciation for classical music. At the age of 12, Vaucher made his debut as a soloist with the Geneva Chamber Orchestra, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor.
