Duo Lechner Tiempo is a classical music ensemble consisting of pianist Karin Lechner and violinist Leonidas Kavakos. The duo was founded in 2010 and has since become one of the most renowned chamber music ensembles in the world. Karin Lechner was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1964. She began playing the piano at the age of four and went on to study at the National Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires. She later continued her studies in Europe, where she worked with renowned pianists such as Maria João Pires and Martha Argerich. Leonidas Kavakos was born in Athens, Greece, in 1967. He began playing the violin at the age of five and went on to study at the Athens Conservatory. He later continued his studies in the United States, where he worked with renowned violinists such as Josef Gingold and Dorothy DeLay. The duo first met in 2008, when they were both performing at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. They quickly discovered a shared passion for chamber music and decided to form a duo. They made their debut performance together in 2010 at the Athens Concert Hall in Greece. Since then, Duo Lechner Tiempo has performed at some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals in the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Salzburg Festival, and the Lucerne Festival.
