David Gross was born on May 15, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his mother being a pianist and his father a cellist. From a young age, Gross showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Gross received his formal music education at the Juilliard School in New York City, where he studied under the renowned pianist Emanuel Ax. He also studied with other notable pianists such as Murray Perahia and András Schiff. Gross made his debut as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic at the age of 16, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3. This performance was widely praised, and Gross quickly gained a reputation as a rising star in the classical music world. Over the years, Gross has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He has also collaborated with some of the most celebrated conductors of our time, such as Sir Simon Rattle, Daniel Barenboim, and Riccardo Muti. One of Gross's most memorable performances was his rendition of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in 2010. The performance was hailed as a triumph, with critics praising Gross's technical skill and emotional depth. In addition to his work as a soloist, Gross is also an accomplished chamber musician.
