Camerata Antonio Soler is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1993 in Madrid, Spain. The group is named after the Spanish composer Antonio Soler, who was a prominent figure in the Baroque era of classical music. The founding members of Camerata Antonio Soler were a group of young musicians who were passionate about performing classical music. They were led by the conductor and harpsichordist, Gabriel Garrido, who had previously worked with other prominent ensembles such as La Grande Ecurie et la Chambre du Roy and Les Arts Florissants. The ensemble quickly gained a reputation for their high-quality performances of Baroque and Classical music, and they began to receive invitations to perform at major festivals and concert halls throughout Europe and the Americas. One of the highlights of Camerata Antonio Soler's early career was their performance at the Festival de Musique Baroque de Versailles in 1995. This prestigious festival is dedicated to the performance of Baroque music, and the ensemble's performance was well-received by both audiences and critics. In 1997, Camerata Antonio Soler released their first album, which featured works by Antonio Soler. The album was a critical success and helped to establish the ensemble as one of the leading interpreters of Soler's music. Over the years, Camerata Antonio Soler has continued to perform and record music from the Baroque and Classical eras. They have collaborated with many prominent soloists and conductors, including Jordi Savall, Philippe Herreweghe, and Andreas Scholl. One of the ensemble's most notable performances was their 2009 concert at the Teatro Real in Madrid, which was broadcast live on Spanish television. The concert featured works by Mozart and Haydn, and was praised for its energy and precision. Camerata Antonio Soler has also received numerous awards and accolades for their performances and recordings. In 2001, they were awarded the National Music Prize by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, and in 2010 they received the Medal of Honor from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. In addition to their performances and recordings, Camerata Antonio Soler is also committed to music education and outreach. They regularly give masterclasses and workshops for young musicians, and have established a scholarship program to support the next generation of classical musicians. Today, Camerata Antonio Soler continues to be one of the leading ensembles in the world of classical music. They have performed at many of the world's most prestigious concert halls and festivals, and their recordings continue to be highly regarded by critics and audiences alike.
