Anne Carey was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Carey showed a natural talent for music and began taking piano lessons at the age of four. As Carey grew older, she became more interested in classical music and began studying the violin. She quickly excelled at the instrument and began performing in local orchestras and competitions. At the age of 12, Carey won first place in the New York State Music Teachers Association competition, which solidified her passion for classical music. Carey went on to attend the Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied under renowned violinist Itzhak Perlman. During her time at Juilliard, Carey continued to win numerous awards and competitions, including the prestigious Concerto Competition, which allowed her to perform as a soloist with the Juilliard Orchestra. After graduating from Juilliard, Carey began her professional career as a violinist. She quickly gained recognition for her technical skill and emotional depth in her performances. In 2008, Carey was invited to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., as part of the Young Artists Series. In 2010, Carey was awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, which is given to outstanding young musicians who show exceptional talent and promise. This grant allowed Carey to further her career and perform in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls. One of Carey's most notable performances was in 2012, when she performed as a soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. The performance was highly praised by critics, who noted Carey's ability to convey emotion through her playing. In addition to her solo performances, Carey is also a member of the renowned Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. She has performed with the society in numerous concerts and recordings, showcasing her versatility as a musician. Throughout her career, Carey has also been dedicated to music education. She has taught master classes at various universities and conservatories, and has served as a mentor to young musicians. Carey believes that music education is essential in fostering a love and appreciation for classical music in future generations.
