H. Dwight Satterwhite was born on May 12, 1950, in a small town in North Carolina. He grew up in a musical family, with his mother being a pianist and his father a singer. From a young age, Satterwhite showed a natural talent for music, and he began taking piano lessons at the age of six. As a child, Satterwhite was exposed to a wide variety of music, including classical, jazz, and gospel. He was particularly drawn to the works of Beethoven, Mozart, and Chopin, and he spent countless hours practicing and studying their compositions. In high school, Satterwhite began to take his music more seriously, and he started performing in local recitals and competitions.
