Jose Perez was born on May 15, 1985, in Madrid, Spain. From a young age, he showed a natural talent for music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. He began playing the piano at the age of six and quickly progressed to more advanced pieces. At the age of 12, Perez was accepted into the prestigious Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid. There, he studied under some of the most renowned classical musicians in Spain, including pianist Alicia de Larrocha and conductor Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos. He also had the opportunity to perform in several concerts and competitions, where he quickly gained a reputation as a rising star in the classical music world. After completing his studies at the conservatory, Perez continued his education at the Juilliard School in New York City. There, he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist Emanuel Ax and conductor Alan Gilbert. He also had the opportunity to perform in several concerts and competitions, including the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, where he was a finalist. Perez's career as a classical musician took off in the early 2000s, when he began performing in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls. He made his debut at Carnegie Hall in 2003, where he performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 with the New York Philharmonic.
