Pablo Rieppi is a renowned percussionist and classical music artist who has made a significant impact on the music industry. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on August 22, 1971, Rieppi grew up in a family of musicians. His father was a professional drummer, and his mother was a pianist. From a young age, Rieppi was exposed to music and began playing the drums at the age of four. Rieppi's passion for music continued to grow, and he began studying percussion at the National Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires. He later moved to the United States to further his studies at the Juilliard School in New York City. While at Juilliard, Rieppi studied under the tutelage of renowned percussionists such as Gordon Gottlieb and Daniel Druckman. After completing his studies, Rieppi began his professional career as a percussionist. He quickly gained recognition for his exceptional talent and was invited to perform with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. One of Rieppi's most notable performances was with the New York Philharmonic in 2008. He was the soloist in the world premiere of Osvaldo Golijov's "Azul," a concerto for cello and orchestra. The performance was highly acclaimed, and Rieppi's virtuosic playing was praised by critics. In addition to his work as a classical percussionist, Rieppi is also a sought-after chamber musician. He has performed with numerous chamber ensembles, including the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and the New York Woodwind Quintet. Rieppi is also a member of the percussion quartet, Sō Percussion, which has gained international recognition for its innovative and experimental approach to percussion music. In 2002, he was awarded the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant, which recognizes outstanding young musicians who show great potential for a significant career in music. He has taught at the Juilliard School, the Manhattan School of Music, and the Aspen Music Festival and School. Rieppi is also the founder and director of the New York Percussion Seminar, a summer program for young percussionists.
