Her mother was a pianist, and her father was a violinist. Delores started playing the piano at the age of four and showed exceptional talent from an early age. Delores received her formal education in music at the University of Southern California, where she studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, John Crown. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in 1951 and went on to earn a Master of Music degree from the same institution in 1953. After completing her studies, Delores embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist. She made her debut performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra in 1953, playing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3. Her performance was well-received, and she quickly gained a reputation as a talented and accomplished pianist. Over the course of her career, Delores performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. She also performed in many prestigious venues, such as Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Sydney Opera House. One of the highlights of Delores's career was her performance at the White House for President John F. Kennedy in 1962. She played a selection of classical pieces, including works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Debussy. Her performance was widely praised, and she received a standing ovation from the audience. Delores was also a prolific recording artist, having recorded over 20 albums throughout her career. Her recordings included works by Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, and many other classical composers. Her recordings were critically acclaimed and helped to cement her reputation as one of the leading pianists of her generation. In addition to her performing and recording career, Delores was also a dedicated teacher. She taught at the University of Southern California for many years and also gave masterclasses and workshops around the world.
