Choeurs de Lyon is a renowned classical music artist that has been captivating audiences with their exceptional performances for over 70 years. The choir was founded in 1948 by Robert Mallet, a French conductor and composer, who aimed to create a choir that would showcase the rich musical heritage of Lyon, France. The choir started with a small group of singers, but it quickly grew in size and reputation. Under the leadership of Mallet, the choir gained recognition for its exceptional performances of classical music, particularly the works of French composers such as Gabriel Fauré, Maurice Duruflé, and Francis Poulenc. Over the years, Choeurs de Lyon has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals around the world. They have collaborated with renowned conductors and orchestras, including the Orchestre National de Lyon, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, and the London Symphony Orchestra. One of the highlights of the choir's career was their performance at the 1958 World's Fair in Brussels, where they represented France and performed for an audience of over 10,000 people. The choir's performance was so well-received that they were invited to perform at the 1962 World's Fair in Seattle, where they once again received critical acclaim. Choeurs de Lyon has also been recognized for their exceptional recordings. In 1964, they released an album of Fauré's Requiem, which was praised for its clarity and precision. The album went on to win the Grand Prix du Disque, one of the most prestigious awards in the recording industry. In addition to their performances and recordings, Choeurs de Lyon has also been dedicated to promoting classical music education. Throughout their long and illustrious career, Choeurs de Lyon has received numerous awards and accolades.
