The duo was founded in 1994 and has since become one of the most renowned piano duos in the world. Anne Louise-Turgeon and Edward Turgeon met while studying at the Juilliard School in New York City. They quickly discovered a shared passion for piano duet repertoire and began performing together as a duo. In 1994, they officially formed Duo Turgeon and began touring extensively throughout North America and Europe. The duo has performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Berlin Philharmonic. They have also been featured on numerous radio and television broadcasts, including CBC Radio and NPR. Duo Turgeon's repertoire spans a wide range of styles and periods, from Baroque to contemporary music. They are particularly known for their interpretations of works by Franz Schubert, Maurice Ravel, and Sergei Rachmaninoff. In addition to their performances as a duo, Anne Louise-Turgeon and Edward Turgeon are both accomplished soloists. They have each won numerous awards and competitions, including the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Competition and the International Stepping Stone Competition. Duo Turgeon has also been recognized with several awards and honors. In 2004, they were awarded the prestigious Virginia Parker Prize by the Canada Council for the Arts.
