Jan Bartoš is a Czech classical pianist who has gained international recognition for his virtuosic performances and insightful interpretations of a wide range of repertoire. Born on May 22, 1986, in Prague, Bartoš showed an early aptitude for music and began studying piano at the age of six. He quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and was soon performing in public, winning his first competition at the age of nine. Bartoš continued his studies at the Prague Conservatory, where he was mentored by renowned pianist Ivan Klánský. He also studied with other notable teachers, including Peter Frankl, András Schiff, and Murray Perahia. During this time, Bartoš began to develop his own unique style, characterized by a deep sensitivity to the nuances of the music and a technical prowess that allowed him to tackle even the most challenging works. In 2005, Bartoš won the prestigious Prague Spring International Music Competition, which launched his career on the international stage. He has since performed in some of the world's most renowned concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. He has also collaborated with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Czech Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Staatskapelle. He has a particular affinity for the works of Czech composers, such as Antonín Dvořák and Leoš Janáček, and has recorded several albums of their music.
