He was born into a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Andre showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Andre's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed his skills. By the age of ten, Andre had already won several local piano competitions and was gaining recognition as a prodigy. In 1996, Andre's family moved to New York City, where he continued his musical education. He attended the Juilliard School, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist Yoheved Kaplinsky. During his time at Juilliard, Andre won several prestigious awards, including the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition and the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. After graduating from Juilliard, Andre began performing professionally. He made his debut with the New York Philharmonic in 2005, playing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5.
