Fernando Luis Dissenha was born on May 12, 1985, in São Paulo, Brazil. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a classical guitarist and his mother a pianist. From a young age, Dissenha showed a natural talent for music and began studying the piano at the age of four. As a child, Dissenha participated in numerous music competitions and festivals, winning several awards for his performances. He continued his musical education at the São Paulo State University, where he studied under renowned pianist and pedagogue, Dr. Maria José Carrasqueira. In 2007, Dissenha won first prize in the prestigious São Paulo Piano Competition, which launched his career as a professional musician. He went on to perform in major concert halls throughout Brazil, including the Sala São Paulo and the Teatro Municipal de São Paulo. In 2010, Dissenha was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist Christopher Elton. During his time in London, Dissenha performed in numerous concerts and recitals, including a performance at the Wigmore Hall. After completing his studies in London, Dissenha returned to Brazil and continued to perform extensively throughout the country. He also began to gain international recognition, performing in countries such as Germany, Italy, and the United States. In 2015, Dissenha released his debut album, featuring works by Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos. The album received critical acclaim and was praised for Dissenha's virtuosic playing and sensitive interpretation of the music. Dissenha has also been active as a chamber musician, collaborating with renowned musicians such as cellist Antonio Meneses and violinist Elisa Fukuda. In 2018, he formed the Dissenha Piano Trio, which has performed in major concert halls throughout Brazil. In addition to his performing career, Dissenha is also a dedicated teacher and has taught at several music schools and conservatories in Brazil. He is known for his passionate and engaging teaching style, and many of his students have gone on to successful careers as musicians. Throughout his career, Dissenha has received numerous awards and accolades for his performances, including the São Paulo State Prize for Culture and the Carlos Gomes Award for Best Instrumental Soloist. He is widely regarded as one of Brazil's most talented and promising young pianists, and his performances continue to captivate audiences around the world.
