From a young age, Nordman showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Nordman's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed his skills. By the age of ten, Nordman had already won several local piano competitions and was gaining recognition as a prodigious young talent. In 1997, Nordman was accepted into the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, one of the most prestigious music schools in Europe. He studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue Liisa Pohjola, who recognized his exceptional talent and helped him develop his technique and musicality. During his time at the Sibelius Academy, Nordman participated in numerous competitions and concerts, both as a soloist and as a chamber musician. He won several awards, including first prize in the Helsinki Piano Competition in 2001 and the Young Artist of the Year award from the Finnish Music Foundation in 2003. After graduating from the Sibelius Academy in 2005, Nordman continued his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, Germany, under the tutelage of renowned pianist and pedagogue Gerhard Oppitz. He also took masterclasses with some of the world's leading pianists, including Martha Argerich, András Schiff, and Murray Perahia. Nordman's career as a concert pianist took off in the mid-2000s, with performances in some of the most prestigious concert halls in Europe, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Konzerthaus, and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. He also made his debut in the United States in 2008, performing at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Nordman's repertoire is wide-ranging, encompassing works from the Baroque to the contemporary period. He is particularly known for his interpretations of the music of Beethoven, Schubert, and Chopin, and has recorded several albums of their works. One of Nordman's most memorable performances was his rendition of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5, "Emperor," with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra in 2010. The performance was hailed by critics as "a triumph of virtuosity and musicality" and cemented Nordman's reputation as one of the leading pianists of his generation. In addition to his career as a concert pianist, Nordman is also a dedicated teacher and mentor. He has taught masterclasses at several music schools and festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival and the Verbier Festival Academy.
