Born on December 30, 1986, in Seoul, South Korea, Suyoen Kim began playing the violin at the age of four. Her parents recognized her natural talent and enrolled her in the Yewon School, a prestigious music school in Seoul, where she received her early musical training. At the age of ten, Suyoen Kim moved to Germany with her family to further her musical education. She continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, where she studied with renowned violinist Ana Chumachenco. Suyoen Kim's talent and dedication to her craft quickly became apparent, and she began to win numerous awards and competitions. In 2003, Suyoen Kim won first prize at the International Louis Spohr Competition in Weimar, Germany. This was followed by a win at the International Fritz Kreisler Competition in Vienna, Austria, in 2005.
