Born on May 12, 1985, in New York City, Gabriel showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of five. His parents, both music enthusiasts, recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his passion. Gabriel's musical journey began with his enrollment in the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division, where he studied under the tutelage of Yoheved Kaplinsky. He continued his studies at the Juilliard School, where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance. Gabriel then went on to pursue his Master of Music degree at the Yale School of Music, where he studied with Boris Berman. Throughout his career, Gabriel has received numerous awards and accolades for his exceptional talent and dedication to music. In 2003, he won the Juilliard Pre-College Concerto Competition, which led to his debut performance with the Juilliard Pre-College Symphony Orchestra. In 2006, he was awarded the William Petschek Piano Debut Recital Award, which allowed him to perform at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center. Gabriel's talent and hard work have also earned him recognition in international competitions. In 2007, he won the First Prize at the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, which led to his debut performance with the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra. He also won the Second Prize at the San Antonio International Piano Competition in 2008. Gabriel's performances have taken him to some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, among others. He has also been invited to perform at numerous music festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival, the Ravinia Festival, and the Tanglewood Music Festival. One of Gabriel's most notable performances was his debut with the New York Philharmonic in 2010. He performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 under the baton of conductor Alan Gilbert. The performance was met with critical acclaim, with The New York Times praising Gabriel's "impressive technique and musicality." In addition to his solo performances, Gabriel is also an avid chamber musician. He has collaborated with some of the most renowned musicians in the world, including violinist Itzhak Perlman and cellist Yo-Yo Ma. He is a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center's CMS Two program, which provides young musicians with the opportunity to perform chamber music in prestigious venues. Gabriel is also a dedicated educator and has taught at the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division and the Yale School of Music. He is currently a faculty member at the Mannes School of Music in New York City.
