Gaston Micheletti was a renowned classical music artist who was born on May 12, 1922, in Marseille, France. He was the son of a music teacher and grew up in a family that was deeply involved in music. From a young age, Micheletti showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. He was a prodigious talent and quickly developed a reputation as a gifted musician. Micheletti's early musical education was under the tutelage of his father, who was a respected music teacher in Marseille. He received his formal training at the Conservatoire de Marseille, where he studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and composer, Henri Tomasi. Micheletti's talent was quickly recognized, and he won several awards and prizes during his time at the conservatory. After completing his studies at the Conservatoire de Marseille, Micheletti moved to Paris to further his musical education. He enrolled at the Conservatoire de Paris, where he studied under the guidance of legendary pianist and composer, Nadia Boulanger. Boulanger was impressed by Micheletti's talent and took him under her wing, providing him with invaluable guidance and support. Micheletti's career as a concert pianist began in the early 1950s, and he quickly established himself as one of the leading pianists of his generation. He made his debut at the Salle Pleyel in Paris in 1952, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5.
