Trombone Attraction is a classical music ensemble that has been captivating audiences around the world with their unique sound and virtuosic performances. The ensemble was founded in 2006 by four trombonists from Austria, namely Martin Riener, Gerhard Füßl, Christian Poitinger, and Andreas Eitzinger. The group has since expanded to include a fifth member, Andreas Öttl. The founding members of Trombone Attraction met while studying at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, Austria. They quickly discovered a shared passion for the trombone and a desire to explore the instrument's full potential. They began performing together as a quartet, experimenting with different styles of music and arrangements. In 2006, Trombone Attraction made their debut performance at the International Trombone Festival in Birmingham, England. The group's dynamic and engaging performance was met with enthusiastic applause, and they quickly gained a following among trombone enthusiasts. Since then, Trombone Attraction has performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls and festivals, including the Musikverein in Vienna, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Salzburg Festival. They have also collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. One of the highlights of Trombone Attraction's career was their performance at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The group was invited to perform at the opening ceremony in Sao Paulo, where they played a medley of Brazilian and international songs to a global audience of millions. Trombone Attraction has also been recognized for their outstanding musicianship and innovative approach to classical music. In 2010, they won the prestigious Echo Klassik award for their album "Trombone Attraction." The album features a mix of classical and contemporary pieces, arranged for trombone quartet. In addition to their performances and recordings, Trombone Attraction is also committed to music education. They regularly hold workshops and masterclasses for young musicians, sharing their knowledge and passion for the trombone. The members of Trombone Attraction are all accomplished musicians in their own right. Martin Riener is a professor of trombone at the Anton Bruckner Private University and has performed with the Vienna Philharmonic and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Gerhard Füßl is a member of the Vienna State Opera Orchestra and has performed with the Vienna Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic. Christian Poitinger is a member of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and has performed with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Andreas Eitzinger is a member of the Vienna Volksoper Orchestra and has performed with the Vienna Philharmonic and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Andreas Öttl is a member of the Munich Philharmonic and has performed with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.
