He quickly gained a reputation for his technical skill and musical sensitivity, and was soon invited to perform with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Oslo Philharmonic, the Bergen Philharmonic, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to his work as a pianist, Lie also began to explore his interest in conducting and composition. As a composer, Lie has written works for a wide range of ensembles, from solo piano pieces to full orchestral works. He has received numerous commissions and awards for his compositions, including the prestigious Nordic Council Music Prize in 2010. Lie's career has been marked by many highlights and achievements.
