Audun Sandvik is a Norwegian classical music artist who has made a name for himself as a cellist and conductor. Born in Oslo in 1973, Sandvik showed an early interest in music and began playing the cello at the age of six. He quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument and began studying with some of Norway's top cello teachers. As a young musician, Sandvik was already making a name for himself in Norway's classical music scene. He won several competitions and was invited to perform with some of the country's top orchestras. In 1992, he was awarded the prestigious Grieg Prize, which recognizes outstanding young musicians in Norway. After completing his studies in Norway, Sandvik moved to Germany to continue his musical education. He studied with some of the world's top cellists, including Heinrich Schiff and David Geringas. During this time, he also began to develop his skills as a conductor, studying with renowned conductors such as Kurt Masur and Bernard Haitink.
