Born on May 22, 1961, in the Netherlands, Susanne van Els showed an early interest in music. She began playing the piano at the age of six and later took up the violin. Her parents were supportive of her musical interests and encouraged her to pursue her passion. Susanne van Els received her formal music education at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, where she studied under the tutelage of Herman Krebbers. She later went on to study at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where she was taught by Davina van Wely. During her time at the conservatory, Susanne van Els honed her skills and developed a deep understanding of classical music. After completing her studies, Susanne van Els began her professional career as a violinist.
