Born on May 11, 1884, in Bucharest, Romania, Gluck was the daughter of a cantor and grew up in a musical household. She began singing at a young age and quickly developed a passion for music. At the age of 14, Gluck moved to the United States with her family and settled in New York City. She continued to pursue her love of music and began studying voice with several prominent teachers. In 1909, Gluck made her professional debut at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where she quickly became a favorite among audiences and critics alike. Throughout her career, Gluck performed in numerous operas and concerts, both in the United States and abroad. She was known for her powerful voice and her ability to convey deep emotion through her performances. Some of her most notable roles included Mimi in La Boheme, Violetta in La Traviata, and Cio-Cio San in Madama Butterfly. In addition to her work in opera, Gluck also recorded numerous popular songs and ballads, which were widely popular during the early 20th century.
