Trio ZilliacusPerssonRaitinen is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1999 in Stockholm, Sweden. The trio consists of violinist Cecilia Zilliacus, pianist Bengt Forsberg, and cellist Kati Raitinen. The ensemble has gained international recognition for their unique sound and interpretation of classical music. Cecilia Zilliacus, the violinist of the trio, was born in Stockholm in 1973. She began playing the violin at the age of four and went on to study at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and the Hochschule für Musik in Hannover, Germany. Zilliacus has performed as a soloist with many orchestras, including the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. Bengt Forsberg, the pianist of the trio, was born in 1952 in Jönköping, Sweden. He studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and the Juilliard School in New York. Forsberg has performed with many renowned musicians, including Anne Sofie von Otter and Barbara Hendricks. Kati Raitinen, the cellist of the trio, was born in Helsinki, Finland in 1972. She studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Raitinen has performed with many orchestras, including the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. The trio's repertoire includes works by classical composers such as Beethoven, Brahms, and Schubert, as well as contemporary composers such as Anders Hillborg and Karin Rehnqvist. Their performances are known for their emotional depth and technical precision. One of the highlights of Trio ZilliacusPerssonRaitinen's career was their performance at the 2011 BBC Proms in London. The trio performed Beethoven's Triple Concerto with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jukka-Pekka Saraste. The performance was highly praised by critics, with The Guardian describing it as "a performance of great warmth and intimacy." The trio has also received numerous awards for their performances and recordings. In 2002, they won the Swedish Grammy Award for Best Classical Album for their recording of works by Schubert. They have also been awarded the Royal Swedish Academy of Music's Interpretation Prize and the Swedish Radio's P2 Prize. In addition to their performances, Trio ZilliacusPerssonRaitinen is committed to music education and outreach. They have worked with young musicians in Sweden and Finland, and have given masterclasses at universities and music schools around the world.
