Peter Mandell was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with both his parents being professional classical musicians. His father was a renowned cellist, and his mother was a pianist. From a young age, Peter was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Peter's parents recognized his talent and enrolled him in the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division when he was just six years old. He studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist and teacher, Yoheved Kaplinsky. This competition is one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world and is held every four years. Peter's win was a significant achievement and helped to launch his career as a professional pianist. Following his win at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Peter began to perform extensively throughout the world. He has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has also performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Berlin Philharmonie. In addition to his performances as a soloist, Peter is also an accomplished chamber musician. He has collaborated with some of the world's leading musicians, including cellist Yo-Yo Ma and violinist Itzhak Perlman.
