Tanya Gabrielian is a renowned classical pianist who has captivated audiences around the world with her virtuosic performances and deep musicality. Born in Pasadena, California in 1983, Gabrielian showed an early aptitude for music, beginning piano lessons at the age of three. Her parents, both of Armenian descent, were supportive of her musical pursuits and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Gabrielian's talent was evident from a young age, and she quickly began to make a name for herself in the classical music world. She won numerous competitions and awards, including the Los Angeles Music Center's Spotlight Award, the Young Musicians Foundation Debut Concerto Competition, and the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition. In 2001, Gabrielian was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied with renowned pianist Jerome Lowenthal. She quickly distinguished herself as one of the school's most talented students, winning the school's Rachmaninoff Concerto Competition and performing with the Juilliard Orchestra. After graduating from Juilliard with a Bachelor of Music degree, Gabrielian continued her studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she earned a Master of Music degree. She also studied at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, where she worked with renowned pianist and pedagogue Klaus Hellwig. Throughout her career, Gabrielian has performed with some of the world's most prestigious orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra. She has also given recitals at major venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Wigmore Hall. One of Gabrielian's most memorable performances came in 2009, when she performed at the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York City as part of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Her performance of Beethoven's "Moonlight" Sonata was hailed as a powerful tribute to the importance of human rights and the role of music in promoting peace and understanding. In addition to her performing career, Gabrielian is also a dedicated educator and philanthropist. She has worked with numerous organizations to promote music education and to bring the healing power of music to underserved communities around the world. She is a founding member of the Music Kitchen, a nonprofit organization that brings live classical music performances to homeless shelters and other social service organizations. Gabrielian's talent and dedication to her craft have earned her numerous accolades and awards throughout her career. She has also been honored with the Pro Musicis International Award, the Salon de Virtuosi Career Grant, and the Paul A. Fish Memorial Prize.
