Arcangelo Borsaro was an Italian composer of the Baroque era, born in 1664 in the town of Lecce, located in the southern region of Apulia. He was the son of a musician, and his father recognized his son's musical talent at an early age. At the age of 14, Borsaro moved to Naples to study music with the renowned composer Francesco Provenzale.
