She was the daughter of the famous Italian tenor Beniamino Gigli and his wife Rina Mori. From a young age, Rina showed a keen interest in music and began taking piano lessons at the age of six. Her father recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Rina's musical education began at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, where she studied piano and music theory. She later went on to study voice with the renowned Italian soprano Toti Dal Monte. Rina's talent as a singer was evident from the start, and she quickly gained recognition for her beautiful voice and exceptional musicality. In 1942, Rina made her debut as a soloist with the Rome Opera, performing the role of Micaela in Bizet's Carmen. Her performance was a huge success, and she was praised for her clear, powerful voice and her ability to convey emotion through her singing. This performance marked the beginning of Rina's career as a professional opera singer. Over the next few years, Rina continued to perform with the Rome Opera and other major opera companies throughout Italy.
