Natalia Khoma is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant impact in the world of music. She was born on August 27, 1975, in Lviv, Ukraine. From a young age, Khoma showed a keen interest in music and began playing the cello at the age of six. Her parents, both professional musicians, recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Khoma received her early music education at the Lviv Music School, where she studied under the guidance of Professor Petro Holosko. She later went on to study at the Lviv State Music Academy, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in cello performance. During her time at the academy, Khoma won several awards and competitions, including the International Competition for Young Musicians in Lithuania and the International Competition for Cellists in Hungary. After completing her studies, Khoma moved to the United States to further her music education. She enrolled at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where she studied under the tutelage of Professor Steven Doane. Khoma received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Eastman School of Music in 2002. Khoma's career as a professional musician began to take off in the early 2000s. She has performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras around the world, including the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, the Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestra of the Dominican Republic, and the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia. Khoma has also performed in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. In addition to her work as a soloist, Khoma is also an accomplished chamber musician. She has collaborated with some of the world's most renowned musicians, including pianist Vadym Kholodenko, violinist Oleh Krysa, and cellist Gary Hoffman. Khoma is a founding member of the Khoma-Mykytka Duo, a cello and piano duo that has performed extensively throughout the United States and Europe. In 2000, she was awarded the prestigious President's Prize for Young Artists in Ukraine. She has served on the faculty of several music schools and universities, including the Eastman School of Music, the University of Houston, and the University of North Texas.
