Il Gusto Barocco is a classical music ensemble that specializes in Baroque music. The group was founded in 2008 by violinist and conductor, Stefano Barneschi. The ensemble is based in Italy and is made up of some of the most talented musicians in the country. Stefano Barneschi was born in Florence, Italy in 1970. He began playing the violin at a young age and quickly showed a talent for the instrument. He studied at the Conservatory of Florence and later at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. Barneschi has performed with some of the most prestigious orchestras in the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. In 2008, Barneschi founded Il Gusto Barocco with the goal of exploring the music of the Baroque period. The ensemble is made up of musicians who share Barneschi's passion for this music and who are dedicated to performing it with authenticity and passion. Il Gusto Barocco has performed at some of the most prestigious music festivals in the world, including the Salzburg Festival, the Edinburgh International Festival, and the Festival de La Chaise-Dieu. The ensemble has also performed in some of the most famous concert halls in the world, including the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. One of the highlights of Il Gusto Barocco's career was their performance at the Salzburg Festival in 2012. The ensemble performed Handel's oratorio, "Theodora," to critical acclaim. The performance was praised for its authenticity and emotional depth. Il Gusto Barocco has also received numerous awards and accolades for their performances. In 2010, the ensemble was awarded the prestigious Echo Klassik award for their recording of Vivaldi's "Four Seasons."
