Artist Info
Infusion Baroque is a classical music ensemble that specializes in performing Baroque music. The ensemble was founded in 2009 by four musicians who shared a passion for early music and a desire to explore the rich repertoire of the Baroque era. The founding members of Infusion Baroque were Alexa Raine-Wright (baroque flute), Sallynee Amawat (baroque violin), Andrea Stewart (baroque cello), and Rona Nadler (harpsichord). The ensemble's name, Infusion Baroque, reflects their approach to music-making. They aim to infuse their performances with a sense of vitality and energy, while remaining true to the historical context of the music they play. Infusion Baroque's repertoire includes works by well-known Baroque composers such as Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi, as well as lesser-known composers from the same era. Infusion Baroque has performed at numerous venues and festivals across Canada and the United States, including the Montreal Baroque Festival, the Boston Early Music Festival, and the Ottawa Chamberfest. The ensemble has also been featured on CBC Radio and has released several recordings, including their debut album, "Rebels & Rivalries," which was released in 2015. One of Infusion Baroque's most notable performances was their appearance at the 2017 Boston Early Music Festival. The festival is one of the largest early music events in the world, and Infusion Baroque was selected to perform in the prestigious Fringe Concerts series. Their performance was well-received by both audiences and critics, with The Boston Musical Intelligencer describing their playing as "exquisite" and "impeccable." Infusion Baroque has also been recognized for their outstanding musicianship and performances. In 2016, the ensemble was awarded the Grand Prize at the Early Music America Baroque Performance Competition. The competition is held every two years and recognizes outstanding performances of Baroque music by ensembles from across North America. In addition to their performances, Infusion Baroque is also committed to education and outreach. The ensemble regularly presents workshops and masterclasses for students and amateur musicians, and they have also developed a program called "Baroque in the Schools," which brings Baroque music into elementary schools. Infusion Baroque's current members are Alexa Raine-Wright (baroque flute), Guy Ross (baroque violin), Emily Eng (baroque cello), and Rona Nadler (harpsichord). The ensemble continues to perform and record, and they are dedicated to bringing the music of the Baroque era to audiences around the world.More....
