Jérôme Capeille is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant impact in the world of music. Born on May 12, 1985, in Paris, France, Capeille showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. His parents, who were both music enthusiasts, encouraged him to pursue his passion for music, and he began taking piano lessons with a local teacher. Capeille's talent and dedication to music quickly became apparent, and he began participating in local music competitions. At the age of 12, he won first prize in the Paris Conservatory's annual piano competition, which marked the beginning of his professional career as a musician. Capeille continued to hone his skills as a pianist, and in 2003, he was accepted into the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. There, he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist Emanuel Ax, who helped him refine his technique and develop his own unique style. He has performed with the New York Philharmonic, the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Vienna Philharmonic, among others. Capeille's repertoire is vast and varied, encompassing works by classical composers such as Beethoven, Mozart, and Chopin, as well as contemporary composers like John Adams and Philip Glass. He is known for his ability to bring a fresh perspective to even the most well-known pieces, infusing them with his own unique musical voice. In addition to his performances, Capeille is also a dedicated teacher, and he has taught master classes at numerous music schools and conservatories around the world.
