Marc-Michaël de Smet is a renowned classical music artist who has made a significant contribution to the world of music. Born on 22nd September 1972 in Brussels, Belgium, de Smet showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. De Smet's musical journey began at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where he studied piano under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue Daniel Blumenthal. He later continued his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, where he studied with the legendary pianist and teacher Aldo Ciccolini. De Smet's talent and dedication to music were evident from an early age, and he quickly gained recognition for his exceptional skills. In 1992, he won the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels, which is one of the most prestigious music competitions in the world.
