Judit Kutasi is a Hungarian mezzo-soprano who has gained international recognition for her powerful and expressive voice. Born on December 28, 1978, in Budapest, Hungary, Kutasi grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a conductor and her mother was a pianist, so music was always a part of her life. She began singing at a young age and showed a natural talent for it. Kutasi studied at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where she received her degree in vocal performance. She also studied at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Italy, and the International Opera Studio in Zurich, Switzerland. During her studies, Kutasi won several awards and competitions, including the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg, Austria, and the International Singing Competition in Toulouse, France. Kutasi made her professional debut in 2003 at the Hungarian State Opera in Budapest, where she performed the role of Rosina in Rossini's "The Barber of Seville." Her performance was well-received, and she quickly became a rising star in the opera world. Kutasi went on to perform in many other operas, including "Carmen," "Don Giovanni," "The Marriage of Figaro," and "Rigoletto." In 2006, Kutasi made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in Austria, where she performed the role of Cherubino in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro." Her performance was praised by critics, and she was invited back to the festival in 2007 to perform the role of Dorabella in Mozart's "Così fan tutte." Kutasi's performances at the Salzburg Festival helped to establish her as one of the leading mezzo-sopranos of her generation. Kutasi has also performed at many other prestigious venues around the world, including the Royal Opera House in London, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. She has worked with many renowned conductors, including Riccardo Muti, Daniel Barenboim, and Zubin Mehta. In addition to her opera performances, Kutasi is also a sought-after concert singer. She has performed in many concerts and recitals, singing works by composers such as Bach, Handel, and Schubert. Kutasi's concert performances have been praised for her ability to convey emotion and depth through her singing. Kutasi has received many awards and honors throughout her career.
