The Boston University Wind Ensemble is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 1970 by Dr. Richard Burgin, who served as its conductor until 2001. The ensemble is made up of approximately 50 undergraduate and graduate students from Boston University's College of Fine Arts, and it is dedicated to the performance of wind band music. The ensemble's main members include its conductor, Dr. David Martins, who has been with the ensemble since 2001, and its principal players, who are selected through a competitive audition process.
